Mr. Oliver Andrews has nearly 40 years’ experience in project development, infrastructure development, investing, public-private partnerships and strategic advisory. He has successfully directed and invested US$10 bn and originated US$100bn of infrastructure deals across the African continent.
During his tenure as the Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), AFC’s assets under management grew from US$1 billion to over US$8.4 billion. He was pioneer of the project development asset class in AFC having led the closure of several signature transactions including the 350MW Cenpower project; Djibouti wind farm; dynamic bauxite mine. He also led the closure of ARISE, a pan-African infrastructure and industrial platform; a manganese mine in Gabon. Oliver is the pioneer Chairman of Africa Infrastructure Development Association and led the AFCs accreditation with the Green Climate Fund. An MBA holder from the University of Wales, who previously was engaged as a consultant for the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and served as CEO TCI Infrastructure & the Gambia Ports Authority, his contributions to the investment industry were recognised by the award of the Champion of Finance by the 2017 EMEA Finance Awards. Oliver, an Incorporated electric and electronics Engineer, possesses a postgraduate diploma in Port and Shipping Administration from the University of Wales and an MBA from Cardiff Business School. Oliver is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
