At FG Gold, the local communities are integral to its mission. In January 2024, FG Gold initiated the Community Driver Training (CDT) and Maintenance and Services Apprenticeship (MSA) Programs to equip locals with essential driving and maintenance skills. The CDT Program emphasizes light vehicle driving, while the MSA Program covers preventive maintenance, on-site servicing, and machinery inspections. Both programs are fully funded by FG Gold, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunity.
Recently, 51 youths from Valunia Chiefdom, 60% of whom are female, graduated from these programs after completing 15 and 12-week immersive courses, combining theoretical and practical training. We are immensely proud of their achievements.
FG Gold is committed to skills training and community development, which are vital for creating a robust employment pipeline. Hiring local youths not only boosts local content but also fosters long-term community transformation.
FG Gold’s CDT and MSA Programs will continue, with the next cohort set to begin training in Q3 2024.
